The game is an Epic Failure, of the same calibre as Quake 4. Utterly broken out of the box. It was the demo released with extra maps and a shiny box - and not much else.

Have you used this one though? I was keen to get it for my laptop but passed on it for some issues bought up by reviewers, from memory:

1) A lot of travel in the space bar equivalent, meaning you have to push it a fair way before it registers.
2) Unstable, rocks a fair bit.
3) Dodgy drivers ...

Just out of interest, has anyone released a mod/mut or something to make UT3 play/move like UT2K4?

I've found a dodge jump mutator but character movement still feels like a truck compared to UT2K4. Just can't seem to get the aiming like UT2K4 either...

Have they fixed demo recording yet or is that ...

Well, I just installed UT3 - patched, right to go.

FFS here is the dealbreaker with this game - as of right now, 9:35 PM Melb time, it says "Online Services are unavailable" when I try to log in.

I tried a whole heap of the "latest" games but nothing sort of holds my interest... Not in the same way as UT2k4 really...

Racing games are out, although give me a Wipeout clone and I'll be all over it (I play them on my PSP).

I've been farmed around the coutryside for a while due to work. I haven't had decent internet for ages. I've only been playing UT2K4 instagib botmatches every now and then. I've got UT3 but I just can't get into it for various reasons so I haven't fired it up in months.

Hahaha I'm subscribed to the server mailing list and read that post the other day too. Had a chuckle over the EPIC guy's response till I realised that they are effectively giving the middle finger to their customers i.e. us.

Have you set the native screen width resolution to 1600? Gotta scroll the forum sideways to view the text on the right hand side on my 1280 x 800 laptop screen.
