new pc -help

Post by kAoS-Hender »

i am looking at upgrade giving myself $2000 on my credit card for the new pc

458 monitor: Samsung 226BW 22" 2ms LCD Monitor 3yr 0 pixel (wide)
529 video: Gigabyte GeForce 8800GTS 640MB PCIe Video Card 2xDVI, TV-out
341 cpu: INTEL Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHZ 95W (775) Quad Core CPU
179 ram: Corsair 2G DDR2 800 TWIN2X 2048-6400C4 Kit (4-4-4-12)
169 case: Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case w/ Window (Black)
209 mb: Asus P5KC P35 MB 2xPCIe/D2/D3/S2/1394/eSata (775)
159 win: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit DVD Edition (OEM)  - yes/no?

total = 2044

questions. will that mb handle the quad core? do i need/want a physX card?
i dont NEED a monitor, i have a very nice chunky 19" diamond-veiw crt 4:3

2k told me i will need a 600+w p/s and sirro told me i will need a better heat-sink for the cpu. thinking of extending my computer to $2500 so not to lower specs above...

you will only need the 640 on resolutions above 1600x1200 your lcd your getting dont go that high anyways so go for the 320mb
and get the 8800GTS 320 oc its only $10.00 more its overclocked out of the box so you still got  warranty if it fuckes up.

:!:  Very Nice indeed.

I left a reply on the utwars forum.  Too late now obviously, and it was probably all wrong anyway.   :-P

i got ur post jazz, and yes it did help.

this summer seams like its' going to be a hot one so i brought the bar fridge up from the garage and next to my computer  ::2k::

thus al the coolers...

at full res and fell tex etc it runs ut3 at 62fps most of the time but can drop to 40 in big areas and spam. so ful res and everything else low and it runs smooth. muhahaha

time for you guys to upgrade and make me cry
