Re: UT3 Tweaking
Do these tweaks, for the mouse work for any of you?
Does the aim feel more like Ut4?
Yeah the console command, may not work, it's all a bit of a shoot in the dark....

I think she's talking about vehicles then she talks a bit more about vehicles... she rounds off with a bit morre about vehicles.. ...
then shes spits it out, balls and all.. the developer crew for Gears Of War were the ones who developed the new movement and aiming system for Ut3.
I stand here shocked.......
Now everything does make sense. And the betrayel is complete.

Re: UT3 Tweaking
If for what ever reason the changes you make refuse to stick, then try this fix:
I haven't tried this yet, but i will as my changes refuse to stick.....
Go to your UT3 demo installation folder.
default: Program Files/Unreal Tournament 3 Demo/
Go into UTGame/Config
Here you will find the default ini files. Since the demo refuses to load the normal inis in the My Documents folder, I found that it loads these ones instead. However, they are all write-protected as they have read-only atributes. So, right click each ones(or the one you need)-->Properties and uncheck "read-only". Now you can edit them. Most are self-explanatory although if you need help, look for the ini topics on this forum.
Open DefaultCompat.ini and start changing things to the way you would want them. Then save and rput the "read-only" atribute back.
Now launch UT3 Demo. It will say that the inis are outdated and offer to update them (saving changes). Click YES. After this it should load up the settings you just specified.

Re: UT3 Tweaking
For those who don't know it yet, you can use the instagib rifle in the UT3 demo when you play offline in instant action !!

It is pretty easy to test actually, simply open the console and type:
[marq=left]giveweapon utgame.utweap_instagibrifle[/marq]
Small drawback, you have to type the command again when you respawn, but hey, just press the "up key"
Another user had to this as well to get it working:
Finaly a site dedicated to InstaGib.....

Re: UT3 BetaDemo- Tweaking
HERE are some mouse tweaks, posted on ProUnreal and quoted from epic forums:
Just tried it vs bots, you'll have to change your sensitivity (I had to lower it to 1), but it seems to work nicely. I was able to headshot a bot falling off a bridge (zoomed in of course).
Just gotta find the actual setting in the INI that changes your mouse sens, then we are set...
.gif)
Here are the settings that need to be changed;
in UTInput.ini:
[Engine.PlayerInput]
LookRightScale=0.000000
LookUpScale=0.000000
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
...
Bindings=(Name="MouseX",Command="Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=2.0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="MouseY",Command="Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=2.0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
...
Bindings=(Name="LookUp",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=+25.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="LookDown",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=-25.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
...
Bindings=(Name="GBA_TurnLeft",Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=-40.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="GBA_TurnRight",Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=+40.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
[UTGame.UTPlayerInput] <- same thing in this section as playerinput.
LookRightScale=0.000000
LookUpScale=0.000000
...
Bindings=(Name="MouseX",Command="Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=2.0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="MouseY",Command="Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=2.0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
...
Bindings=(Name="LookUp",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=+25.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="LookDown",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=-25.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
...
Bindings=(Name="GBA_TurnLeft",Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=-40.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="GBA_TurnRight",Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=+40.0 AbsoluteAxis=0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Adjust your MouseSensitivity according to your preference and what feels right in game with this console command;
set Engine.PlayerInput MouseSensitivity <x>

Re: UT3 BetaDemo- Tweaking
Im gonna try this when I get a spare second.
After that though, and i already have tried it without much success, is trying to make some better weapin binds, like piped binds for example.
Has anyone had any sucess with these or know where to change the ini? Or which INI?

Re: UT3 BetaDemo- Tweaking
k Wakkz,
i have been thru all the recommended ini files (ffs why so many?) and made all the suggested tweaks for lowering screen graphics so get a stripped "quake-like" look BUT i reinstalled the game again and apart from turning things down in interface and binding weapons to my MX revolution, i have decided that all runs with less problems & hiccups with a clean and untouched install . .
and remember i have not played UT forever due to my damaged arms but guess what? i am holding my own most times in maps, getting better all the time
therefore, my suggestion is to keep the install cleam without tweaks just turn grphics down in interface BUT I AM GONNA UPGRADE TO AN 8800 GFX WITH DUAL CORE MOBO AND A PHYSICS CARD WHEN I GET SOME MONEY.
BTW, I love this game but i am still reserved in my decision that it sux in comparison to where UT2k4 went!
::yay!!!:: ::yay!!!::

I'll have to give your mouse stuff a go. Been fiddling with it a little previously and just can't make it feel like how I have it in UT2004.
Re: UT3 BetaDemo- Tweaking
you can not do pipedweaponbinds, as far as I know it's off by default. that is, it's now part of the game.... but find that strange because in the Input.ini theres swicthedweapon binds...
