Fixing my PC
I'm going for a reformat sometime soon, and while I'm at it, gonna upgrade a few parts (soundcard hasn't been upgraded in years, might get a new graphics card).
What I want advice and help with is fixing the packetlag. I'm fairly certain it's on my end due to how impeccably consistent it is.
My modem is a NetGear DG834G, running wireless via a Gigabyte WPKG PCI WLAN Card.
What should I check and how should I go about troubleshooting this, so I can find out what is causing it?
If I didn't plug something in right, I will kill myself. If the modem is bjorked, I buy a new one. If it's cruddy Oz net, at least I know that I'm f00ked.

Case closed!

Re: Fixing my PC
Trust me. If I didn't have 2 doors, a kitchen, and a flatmate with Downs between my comp and my phoneline, I wouldn't be running wireless.
BTW, before I had my packetlag problems (back at my parnets), I was running wireless as well.

Re: Fixing my PC
Well just to test it out connect with a cable to your computer via network card.
all you need is a network card in your pc onbord or pci.
than run a network cable from your pc network card to the DG834GB and plug it in to the yellow port at the back.
play some ut and see if you get lag.
oh and make sure you uninstall/disable the wireless net work card on you pc or if your using a usb wireless adapter just unplug it.

Re: Fixing my PC
Mine isn't the DG834Gv4.
Mine says on the box it supports ADSL2.
Will try the cable approach sometime.

gammo has a point on that wireless thing
had a mate that was running wireless and he had the same problem as you
he switched to cable, and it all stopped
