request for DOMINATION

I know this is a far cry, but I really would love to see domination on ut3 server. There is mod for it on ut3 at; http://ut3dom.xantaz.net/news.php

Domination mod is like TDM but with 2-4 teams. The idea is to take control of 'control points'. The team Holding control point gains points and the team with most points wins. Good maps have at-least 4 control points, so camping is bad idea

Sounds interesting - I don't think I've ever played domination but variety is a good thing - especially since the numbers playing UT3 suck

As for bombing run - I like bombing run - I believe someone did a UT3 map or two for bombing run - it always attracted people even though the map was simple

And of course gammo's time is free in getting these running

(Actually gammo - I've said this before and I'll say it again - I hope your getting some type of compensation for all the time you spend looking after stuff for us? Servers, forums, stats, ladders etc don't look after themselves)

You should use the Auto installer and not the manual install method, it works better.

How to select the gametype:
-Depending on how many players are on the server, Press F5 and select;

(Lots of players 3+ Control Points) = kAoS*Domination
(Not many players 2 Control Points) = kAoS*DoubleDom

(I'm not sure about that, that is, which Gametype is better for more players... have to test them to see which is better for more players)

Gametypes Replaced; (UTComp will only allow 10 Votable Gametypes)
-kAoS*Domination -<<Replaced>>- kAoS*TDM
-kAoS*DoubleDom -<<Replaced>>- kAoS*Invasion

Keep in mind;
-It can take a considerable amount of time to change both Gametype and Maps, so be patient.

-The game time and other gameplay settings are on default. So that means that the Xlock can be used.

-Please post here problems with these gametypes, tanks...

Ok, i was able to change and play domination while in the server. But i had to rejoin the server. So i rejoined and got error while connecting to the kaos server on DOM-gametype


connection failed
Downloading package 'UTDom' failed: Error opening file

Yeah I got the same error a couple of times..


prob with it is, that when it happens, the server becomes un-log-able... because it keeps asking ya for the fucking file...

I was waiting for someone else to get replicate/create the error, to see if it will happen again.. and so it did....

so I have disabled the fucking thing, until i get a response from the developer about the issue....

Thanks for giving it ago, and shame it wont work on the server. The DOM creator should have had the glitches fixed in the recent patch.

I hate for this not to work, it would be shit for everyone. But more for you because you doing all the work.

Yeahhhhhh.... It works fine. Thanks for putting it up on the server. Tomorrow, I'll be on all nighhht, and I'll send a few invites out. DOM needs needs teams or it stinks.

Anyway, only one issue. I found spamming trans-locators more useful than the guns....... maybe take that thing out.

Some those DOM maps are too big in scale. I should done more homework. When I have time I will copy and make smaller versions of those huge maps; Time to get working on it.

In the meantime i recommend these maps...
