I can if I choose upgrade from 256k to 512k.

I'm tempted, but I'd like to know how that would affect (or decrease) my pings and lag.

So, would 250 ping (average for US servers, and half the Oz servers) just become 125, or similar?

I'm tempted, but I'd also like to see what gains I should be getting, before I commit an extra 20 dollars per month.

Its the upload speed that will help you. I reakon you'll see a huge difference between 256 and 512... I've never been on 256k, but moving from 512/128 to 1500/256 dropped my pings by quite a bit.

Being in NSW, you should be getting 40ms or so to the kaos server...

If you get 512k, I reakon you'll be edging close to that.

I was on 512k for about a year and I was getting pings of about 70-80 on the kAoS server. However, Im in South Australia which means (correct me if im wrong someone) my pings are worse then someone on the east coast of Australia. So you'd be looking at slightly better pings then that Gades...

When I was on 512k, I was getting 52 to the kaos server from Melbourne, now I get 40-44.
70-80ms from SA to kaos server is awful. Bloody telstra and their dodgy links.

Heh, don't know why, but suddenly, I'm getting great pings. I was actually getting great pings to the gamespace servers for the first time in 3 months.

I hope this remains in effect.

Hey Xaero. I live in the northern suburbs, more towards the Elizabeth area....which, if I know my geographical locations (which I dont), is on the opposite side of town to you lol. Just stated uni at the University of Adelaide and not long turned 18.
