vCTF is no fun without the Excessive Mutator, then what you get is an all out battle, like never before..... it has to be one of the fastest most intense times you can get in UT2004.
You can try this on our server by voting the gametype:
kAoS.xVCTF
As for the games last night, they were great, but i would like to apologise on behalf of kAoS for not having the 4 players ready.
Sorry about that, but our 4th man, dissapered, only to show up, drunk and 3 hours late... ffs....
grrrr..... Next time we will try to get it better organised, very sorry about that. (Tuff-Nuts, it's all good man)
Well as for tips about last nights games, the main is:
Do joos have TeamSpeak?
Because your greatest weakness was the disarray your team was in. Had no organisation and your players were running around solo/independent of the rest of the team. Basically joos were playing DM, not TaM/TdM.
With teamspeak you can organise yourselfs a bit better. If you noticed, we played a flanking game, were ever possible our players were always backing each other up, with teamspeak, one would identify the enemy position and the rest would "flank" them...
Well in theory anyways... heheheheh
But the singles biggest thing I can say to you is:
MORE PRACTICE together as a team. It's not ONS or vCTF, in TaM joos have to communicate very clearly and know your maps well.
With that in mind, we would like to do this again, but this time a bit more organised, with the understanding that if one of the teams is short a player, then the other team will "lend" them an extra player.
Keeping the 'fun' factor firmly in sight, we would also suggest a couple of different gametypes everytime we play together. ie; TaM, vCTF, xVCTF. To mix things up a bit, towards the end of the night, we could also swap some players around, mix the teams up a bit.
OK. we have our own dedicated Teamspeak server and what I can do is on the night, set up a seperate channel on the server for joos.
Let me know, ok.
