Time for a reality check, the above test we have been doing for so long is basically crap. JAVA driven crap.

If you seriously want to find out your 'real' line speed, then you need to run and post the results for this test:

http://www.ozspeedtest.com

Here is my 'real' line speed:
Broadband Speed Test Results

Test run on 12/06/2009 @ 02:46 PM

Mirror: OptusNet
Data: 9 MB
Test Time: 8.16 secs

Your line speed is 9.27 Mbps (9268 kbps).
Your download speed is 1.13 MB/s (1158 KB/s).

Wich is utterly fucking pathetic, straight up bucket of shit service. Ranked below most 3rd world countries.

Australia, wake the fuck up, you are been scammed!

That means my OPTICAL FIBER CABLE, is operating 0.00000009% BELOW it's NATURAL FUCKING CAPACITY!

What capacity, well something like this maybe, even this is not even close to capacity of a standard Fiber Optic cable;

This is from a small, no big deal net cafe in an outter suburb of a mid-size city in Japan, the net Cafe has unlimited data both ways, because in Japan there is NO QUOTA SYSTEM:
Image

This tech is already old....
Image

Now before you all jump on the bandwagon and start spinning off regurgitated corportate propaganda, hear this:

The DISTANCE and LAND SIZE ARGUMENT IS A LIE, A SCAM. Mordern Tech has solved this problem when the telephone was invented and used copper lines. ADSL is off copper lines, electricity travels how fast across copper lines with NO BOOSTING STATION REQUIRED????

What exactly is been carried across these cables that require such strict monotoring, anyfuckingways????

I mean if you want to move 10 tons of shit, you need a truck that can carry 10 tons of shit, right? I mean shit is shit, it's got a certain mass, desity, physical representation, corporal body... right???

So what does DATA do inside a Fiber optic cable?... what is it exactly, how is it represented inside the cable as an electrical signal? Simple, it's basically free flowing electrons. You don't need a ten ton shit truck to move 300 terabytes of data. you need about one flick of the switch off energy produced to push it all long the cable to it's inevatable end. (Rapidshare.com... lololol)
Yes, its not like those electrons in a physically larger network need power, land (or the leasing of land) or maintenance. Those electrons are basically free, and not affected by weather or storms or sharks.

Which is why once that basslink is built (New PRIVATE cable connecting AU to GUAM, wich is an international connection hub), they will be raking in PURE PROFIT. Similarly, the pipe network is PURE PROFIT. Practically no costs.

Why, those ISPs are silly, paying for those links when they could install some of their own and live with a PURE PROFIT connection for eternity with only that once off cost

Why, I think the govt should put in the extra Billions and build the NBN themselves. That way, instead of paying $50/month, I can have an UNLIMITED internet connection for practically NO COST for the rest of our lives.... because electrons flow around with not much effort.
Here's an example of our connections to USA and ASIA;
http://telstrawholesale.com/products/im ... ap_map.jpg
This pure profit model is slowly been adapted across the world, so the notion of "Unlimited" will be, like the notion of "Free chooice", a thing of the past, history, not present reality, but something we had and we let the corporations take from us.

Look, Australians are in serious trouble here. We are on the verge off loosing contact with the 1st world's technological forefront. We are been relegated into the roles of pure 'consumers' and not innovators. And the recent debacle witht he National Broadband Network plan, wihtout a doubt proves it.

How can a so called, 1st world government (makes no difference what denomination they are < they are the exact same corporate lacklys, period) just plain and simply fail to reach an agreement with it's corporate sector over the future of telecomunications for the entire country for the next, who knows, generations?

How? Is that possible? I mean does anyone really beleive they tried? Seriously, right now the telcos have got pure 100% cash cows, pouring and I mean by the billions of pure profit into their pockets, with the total scam the entire mobile phone & ISP industry is and the way that over the years as the tech improves and they cut cost, their offerred services get smaller and smaller. Smaller quoates, minimal speed improvements, but always, always higher and higher rates, disproportionate to the services provided.

So pray tell, how do a bunch of Koreans get organized to position themsevls as the NUMBER 1 infrastructure of Super (Next0Gen) Networks in the world?

http://www.fareastgizmos.com/computing/ ... econds.php

But I thought they were just another backward corporate dumping ground? At least that's what Rupert tells us, seems everyone else agrees with him, How come the local media haven't picked up this irony?

I dont trust those test one bit......

Cause when I download using Internet Download Manager.. i ALWAYS double the speed those test give me.

go figure....

Test says I'm only getting 9.3Mbits...

iDM registers at over 23Mbits....

So you tell me which one is full of bs
