Hey all,

Ok I just got meself a new card. Now the problem is I couldnt decide on what card to get so the suppler gave me both to take home.

The one I paid for was the:

WinFast A380 Ultra TDH with MyVivo (GForce FX 5950 Ultra)

The card I have to test is:

GeXcube Radeon 9800 XT

So what do you guys think? I realy want to do some Video Editing so Im leaning towards the GForce FX 5950 Ultra due to the MyVivo.

FPS I think 9800XT is just a little better. Hmmmmm Help please as I have to return 1 by Mon afternoon.

the xt is better for gamming but honestly wen your talking top end cards the difference is negligable. I have a 9800pro myself and couldnt be happier.

With really only a small performance difference in those 2 cards gamming wise your only consideration is with the video editing capabilities of the cards....................therefor i would choose the Nvidia

Well after testing both in UT2003 I found NO difference!!!

So after all that I will be keeping the WinFast A380 Ultra TDH with MyVivo (GForce FX 5950 Ultra). It’s a better looking card and is also built a lot better. Value for money the GForce FX 5950 Ultra wins hand down!!!

PC Details:
- P4 2.7gig
- 2 X 512M PC3200 DDR400(Kingston)
- ASUS P4G8X Motherboard
- 550 Power Supply

WinFast A380 Ultra TDH with MyVivo (GForce FX 5950 Ultra) =$680

GeXcube Radeon 9800 XT = $735

Thanks for all your help and I hope this helps someone else :)

P.S. Another thing I noticed was that you could cook food on the 9800XT! Man it was like red hot after 1hrs use!

Glad you sorted you Card issue out.

Tell us about how you tested both cards in UT2003. Bench? Or playing?

I was just flicking through a copy of PC Authority magazine and found a benchtest comparison done by them .

The results are quite interesting/surprising.

The bench test machine they use is-
p4 3.2c 800fsb
512mb dual channel DDR400 ram
ABIT IC7-G motherboard
seagate 60gb 7200rpm HD
XP pro

RESULTS-
3D mark01se 1024 x 768 res:

POWERCOLOR 9800 XT = 20,243

Smart VGA 9800 XT = 20,159

Leadtek A380 FX 5950 = 18,390

Gigabyte FX 5950 =18,355

3D mark03 1024 x 768 res:

Smart VGA 9800 XT = 6,448

POWERCOLOR 9800 XT = 6,443

Leadtek A380 FX 5950 = 5,273

Gigabyte FX 5950 = 5,272

Seems the XT has quite a big performance advantage over the 5950
The XT out performs the 5950 by a massive 2000 3Dmark01 and by 1000 3Dmark03 points
