It's good for cable & ADSL. But some cable modems don't like been hooked up to a Gigabit port (Like mine one, it only likes 10/100Mbit ports), so this Router has a WAN port, to wich the cable modem connects to;

Mines in the mail.....
What sold me is the DEDICATED connection for the game with NO degradation on that connection regardless of what other App or hidden process decides to access the Internet and lag you out.. just as you're about to frag R@ge....

yes, it optimizes your gaming pipeline to the server and regardless of wat else access the internet or tries to access it, it continues to maximise bandwidth to your game, but limiting the rest of the processeessssss seeking bandwith from the network...
I NOW HAVE IT IN MY HANDS and in a few hours we will know if it indeed woirks or not....

Cool, my router is actually listed on there too...but im a bit hesitant to mess around with it cause its been set up by the comp technician at my dad's company so that my dad can connect to his company's intranet and work from home when he needs to...so messing around might screw something up, especially changing from dynamic to static ip.... =(

Well it was pretty easy to set up the Router using the default settings, and when i logged onto the server my ping was rock solid on 36 compared to the last few weeks of 60+.
BUT.. befgore OzFOrces changed providers my rewgular ping was 32. So as far as taht is concerned,, the sever is not doing well, but from that perspective.
If I was getting 60+ last few weeks and a LOT of packloss, then once the router was connected i was getting a solid 36 and NO packloss.
First impressions are very good, very, very good.... NOT amazing.. but remember the server is quite sick lately...
I'm going to tweak it a bit over the next few days, lez see how hard this baby rocks huh...

ok i gotta question . .
recently i changed to my independent isp from Telecom (my isp decided to take the loss with unbundled lines & do it anyway cos they support a large asian community here & gaming their 1st priority)
so i did notice some improvement in my ping to kAoS server
lately i been getting up to 50 ping variation ingame . . .
like it will fluctuate between 49 & 92 almost constantly
so, my question is . . if i shift to a static ip will that mean that i get a stable LOWER end ping all the time?

Nifty looking router Gammo.
I gather the Gamefuel thingo does some sort of QOS packet prioritisation to prevent insane ping increase when some other person or process makes an internet connection while you are playing a game.
There are numerous firmwares available for the popular Linksys WRT54G that do a similar thing and most new routers seem to incorporate this QOS feature.
I'm keen to know how this performs with VOIP and bittorent (if you use these). Ordinarily these services absolutely ruin any change of playing online while they are running.

Im guessisng you will need cable for this to work ie with a static ip coz with adsl you dont have a static ip unless u request one from your isp which will cost u extra per month.......?????

NAI!
The router sets up as a DHCP (or sum shit like that) server, thereby giving you the option of have a static ip...
=]
PS:
IT OWNS.. my pings are a consistent low 40's, were before I had high 80's....
there is NOT PACK LOSS wat-so-ever... NONE!!!
get one, dun hesitate just get one...
