Prety good interview, he actually contains all the hype somewhat.... lol

http://www.gameriot.com/news/4520/Jeff- ... 3-release/

Also:

no brightskins and hitsounds

So expect UTComp back on the agenda......

Also because of the way there is NO favourites anymore, there's a lot of talk about Pick-up games within IRC.....

ffs... not this again... so we may need to fire up an IRC channel and hook into the server (Any servr), so you can just join from there when ever a game is advertised.....

I would lke someone ele to look after the IRC end of things please... really it drives me fucking nuts... any volunteers please?

here's some info on such bot....

AFAIK,

You cant go directly from from an IRC client to UT3.

Still better than nothing though.

I think I found an easier way of doing it, but it requires running a 3rd party application;

Macrogame v1.4

With Macrogame you will be able to save time on all kinds of task. Just for gaming you can send cheats, phrases, commands, and tons more. Everything is saved on exit. No worrying about being out of date, Macrogame comes with an update feature. Not only can you work with games, but anything! You can safely store passwords knowing that all the information is encrypted before being saved. Macrogame is totally free, no spyware, adware, no strings attached. Macrogame is standalone and can be shifted from folder to folder without losing any data.

D/l here;

I found tis on the INA forums in the admin section, as an alternative to loggin into the server eveytime the Admin needs to change something....

But it can also be used to make a favourites list, sttic of course, but it will connect you.

Basic commands and things to keep in mind when using it;

Make sure you have {ENTER} at the end of each statement:
Example:

ADMINLOGIN PASSWORD{ENTER}
stat fps{ENTER}

{ENTER}= Auto return key

I have not seen any of the admin kick or ban commands but lets just say its BAN and KICK for example:

BAN username
KICK username

Notice the {ENTER} is not at the end thats cuz you need to type in the user name to kick or ban.

But you can put the BAN and Kick Command in macrogame without the {ENTER} at the end so you can put the usersname in

Honestly, how fuckd up is this? I mean wtf is going on with Epic here, theres nothing in the retail box... omfg.... it's a stripped out game, everything neds to be modded for it....

It seems more and more, that Epic focused much more on the Single Player then on the Multi player aspects of this game.

I mean is not the essence of online play a solid reliable server browser with matchmaking built-in?

secondly there is no online community if there is not adequate suppot for online servers, is there?

ffs.. the chicken or the egg.....

The PRO community held a belief that with Ut3, Epic would finally deliver us from hell and give us a balanced game that had the best of UTComp, UT2Vote  & TAM built in!!!!!

But no, there is noting there, NOT A FUCKING THING!!!!!

Macthmaking, had Epic taken this aspect of gaming seriously they would of have realised the massive potential it has for online pay.  Even Sony told Epic to go see these peoples (Ones who came up with the system), but Epic did not.

The system intergrates into the online aspect of the game to effetively do this;

All game titles that have multiplayer modes of gameplay must have a matchmaking solution, however rudimentary it is. Outside of GINA, there is currently no standalone matchmaking engine that provides both matchmaking logic and player management services such as histories, statistics, profiles, social networking, and ban controls.

GINA is an artificial intelligence or feedback control system, that communicates with users, keeps track of their buddies and teams, schedules events, and learns a gamer’s skill over time in order to match that gamer with similarly skilled gamers.

Additionally, GaimTheory has recently added digital asset management capabilities to GINA, enabling developers to securely employ microtransaction-based economies directly into their games. The underlying technology framework is complete and now being introduced to the market as a comprehensive platform that provides the following:
Content

Game file encrypt/decrypt and download authorization system
Communications

Buddy, Squad, and Clan-based event notifications and messaging
Matchmaking

Support for 4 different match types: public, pickup, ladder, and tournament game play
Statistics

Aggregate statistics package including awards, achievements, trophies, player histories, and leaderboards
E-Commerce

Support for pay-to-play, subscription, advertising, and microtransaction business models

More info about it here;
http://www.gaimtheory.com/products/overview

But there are lot of arguments about this system, I think it will help keep n00bs on longer, giving them an enviroment to play in that's more fun orientated then just simply geting raped over and over, by playing against similary matched/skilled oponents, a bit like TAM.

You can read a really good thread about it over here;

Anywyas, I'm going to be looking into this matchmaking a bit more in the future.... sounds interesting enought....
