I've been playing for about a week now, online and it's quite frustrating to play. It's a squad, objective based FPS shooter using the Unreal Engine 2.5.

It has some kool teambased features, but overall it lacks that something that would make it a must-have-game. I'm not sure what it is..... could be it's very hard to identify enemy players... or the grained out tonal look of the maps... or that the Sniper Rifle they use (The same one used in that bs movie 'Smoking Aces') can only puch a hole throught a wet paper bag and only if you 'push' the bag onto the barrel..... or that when you zoom in.... and fire,  the 'simulated' kick-back feel has the cross hairs go intergalactic across the screen.... no tracer, wich makes it impossible to see were you just got sniped from. TOTALLY impossible.

On one game I got killed and redeployed without taking a single step over 9 times. Finally it redeployed (Respawn) on a different part of the map and I could begin tracking down that motherfucking spawn raper... wich I did.. found the camper lodged into a BSP hole on the Street map. So I set up a  mini-turret SUV, tiny little 'tank' with a huge rail gun mounted on top of it...  came up behind him... and pumped 700 rounds of 50mm armour piercing death into the back of his fucking head.

Another really kool drone is the drone helicopter (Little  remote controlled miniture copters). But with the Tank drones just watch that little thing take out a full blown tank.. so funny.... like a Chewawa nipping at a Great Dane....

There's also remote controlled air strikes, wich are useless in City maps and heaps of vehicles, wich I found easier to handle then any UT counter part.

Still i had fun playing this, but not for the long run. This game has a LOT of potential as it's got quite a few good ideas within..... At least the Devs (Who incidently are called KAOS Studios!!!!) openly admit it's a BETA and has along way to go.

You can play this right away and participate on the BETA feedback programm. You have to register on FilePlanet first (Unless you're with GameSpy already), then you get a free BETA CD-Key and access to the 1.7Gb BETA Online Demo. Install, login, play, done!

http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/frontli ... AB55555DA5

BUT if you're with Tesltra, then GameArena has a setup FrontLines BETA d/l's, you're looking for Version 0.3.0, all you need then is the BETA key from the FilePlanet link above.

If any of joos try it, let me know what you think..... and no I'm not suggesting or favouring this as a Ut replacement for the time being, but just something to keep an eye on.
