Ive spat the DUMMY hard core in thier forums, their original rules were NO MODS, no they have done a back flip. Here is my post:
Note To Players For Tonights Rounds: 13.Mar.2004
Just a quick note the issue of using mods for the tounrament has come up, and we have decided that we would prefer that no players used mods during the course of the tournament to keep the games fun and even.
Notice To All Players For UT2004 Rule Updates: 15.Mar.2004
The final issue relates to players competing with skin mods. We have decided that as we are unable to adequately police this practice we will allow it to continue. It is at each player’s discretion to whether they choose to use the mods or not.
I informed you earlier that policing these skin mods/hacks/cheats merely requires you to LOOK at the screenshots that are sent in. The player will either be using a GENUINE skin or they will not be.
This is a blatant poor effort on the Cyber Slams behalf to bring this obvious solution forth. In relation to these skinmods, Cyber Slam has disregarded its responsibility to control its own competition. Evolving its rules for events or mods not originally allowed within the boundary of the game is massively ridiculous on Cyber Slams behalf. This must be rectified at once.
It is your responsibility to be immovable in your rules, and uphold those that were set out in the beginning, and especially ones relating to skin mods/hacks/cheat which are identifiable by the naked eye. Let me emphasise
<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>IDENTIFIABLE BY THE NAKED EYE.</span>
The fundamental statement for which a competition is based is "let the best man win." Perhaps "man" should be "man with his mods"
Betrayal.
Please comment.
Also, what are your motivations for ignoring this fantastically simple solution to skin mods/hacks/cheats?
