Hender, what the hell are you talking aobut?
I think that is what gammo is trying to say... were do new player (noobs) come into it when you refer to pugs?
As a noob I would never get into pugs.... as a noob I would get to play on the pubs, were the game is shit, because all the decent players are gone into their own private, "It's not what you know, but who you know "pugs".... the thread is about why the game is dying... not about DX
And the one of the points raised is that pugs.... is pretty much a closed doors affair... leaving the rest of us non - elite out in the cold hars pubs......
Hender I don't think you have a clue, what you are saying, I have tried to get into pugs and I was told by some players on there to "fuck off n00b".. and that was on the IRC channel...
gee thanks for making me feel welcomed fellas, guess I'll go back to the pubs and take my chances.... but now I was also told by a more giving pugs player... that you need to be good enoguht to get into pugs...
And hence (I think) is gammos point... it's segregation of the community, wich in turn made me feel like shit.. as you were putting me down, simply because I don't spend hours upon hours playing UT... simply because I'm not part of the boys club....
And on that note I have to say you are an idiot hender... and yes, pugs might be good for the elite, mates only club, but for the rest of us, the message is very clear.... you are not of our standard, so pleases fuck off....
And there I agree with gammos point.... that sux and that is helping kill UT in this country....

Another reason might be, that most players already in the community have given up for what ever reason they might have, on the community itself, and are content to play on setup's like PUG server, etc...

) . . . i mean i wud rather go down with a dying community whilst keeping my integrity in tact than be part of whats killing the whole damn thing!
the only reason i have been allowed in a few pugs is cos i happen to be good friends with some of the organisers but i feel unconfortable there & wish no longer to take part in it . . i have kAoS, who needs anything more?

i play on pugs about once every 2months and spent 80% on public servers and 19% on our own servers

mayb someones needs to create a ts server for jsg and publisise it so even, for the lack of a better word, "n00bs" can mingle with the ut community

i know one good thing about pugs....they get the ASS#**!s off the pubs
i have not met many 1337 players that are nice (bad winners or loosers)
one msg i remember in a clan match when we were beaten
quote "omg i thought we were playing bots"
even if we pwn the other team we still say gg better luck next time. or something such.
good peaple are few in ut ... no sry ...i should say the bad eggs spoil it for everyone.
