i am going shopping for a new vid card tomorrow

gonna get a geforce 6600 GT
NOT gonna get a radeon ::grrrrrr::

can get one for about $270 NZD

also going shopping for a new monitor (window shopping anyway)
gonna get a 21" like my present one
ffs this bloody LCD gear is crap, i hate the graphics and the colour it generates

then . . . .

but i digress . . .

what i really wanted to ask is what do others think about monitors?
what r ur thoughts on CRT/LCD?

i mean, LCD wud be easier for lanning
but . . .

Well if you decide to go for an LCD, you should have a look through this article. Any one of these would be more then adequate. But dont go lower then an 19" LCD cause the latency's are far too high and will give horrible ghosting.

Well thats a LIE! i have 17" LCD and it's fine no ghosting what so ever.

For gaming you want a lower response time mine is 8ms.

Well yours is 12ms, and latency and response are pretty much one in the same arent they? And sooooory, just everytime I hear about 17"ers its how bad they are in terms of latecny and ghosting and how much better off you are with a 19". Besides these days you can get a good 19" for relatively cheap prices and are always dropping.

CRT's are the better option for gaming cause theres no chance of ghosting, but they are just waaaaay to chunky...mines 17" and THATS bulky enough, I couldnt imagine a 21" :eek:

space & mobility wise the LCD wud be great but i dunno
kinda not my thing . . . hate the graphics etc

i got the space for 21" or more
ffs i might link my comp to my tv & play off that

i do have plenty monitors but this time i buying a NEW one
only ever had one brand new one before in my life

just remembered . . . my cat sleeps on top my monitor
don't think she cud do that on a LCD :roll:
