::haha::

I "tried" the 32 bit version on my system and benchmarked all the stuff I use regularly.

1) The Nvidia drivers need work. It was complicated to setup custom resolutions and refresh rates. Overclocking is severely limited, being unable to obtain an overclock anywhere near what I run under XP/2K.

2) Video editing/processing, music conversion and 3D rendering are all way slower under Fista.

3) UT2K4 ran poorly for me. My other games were painfully limited in FPS as well.

4) As Gammo commented, video codecs and audio are just unnecesarily troublesome.

Suffice to say I've just reinstalled Ubuntu onto that HD I was using to test Fista. Back to 80% 2K / 20% XP usage for me. 2K still has it.

I'm starting to have serious doubts about Direct X 10 if this is how borked Fista is right now. What's to say I can't get the same visual gaming experience out of OpenGl/Direct X 9 in XP/2K?

Might look at it again when something Direct X 10 comes out and reviews proclaim it as the Holy Grail.

Ohh God that drove me nuts!!!!

On my second PC (Were I tested Blista) I got an LCD 17" monitor an a Hitachi LCD projector. Under XP it automaticlly detected my monitors and identified that one was a projector, and set them up accordingly. LCD as monitor 1 and the projector as monitor 2 (That depends on how you connect them to your Video card as well)....

Anyways, when erva i wanna watch a DvD or Xvid, i just go into properties and exactly 9 clicks later I be watching ma movie widescreen..... np...

With Blista... OMFG!!! FOrget it... NOT only did it REFUSE... I mean, point fucking blank REFUSE to install the drivers i had (Disk) for each monitor, it refused to detail the projector as a projector, therefore giving a resolution and refresh rate, way the fuck out of range for the projector....

so When i switch to the projector it simply gave me a black screen, needing a fucking reboot were i physically disconnected the projector from the video card....

Only on one occasion (Out of about 10 attempts) did it go throught the 15 second option to keep the settings. The rest of the time noting, zero, zilch, nada, niente... FUCK ALL!!!!

Wat a dud.... an almighty dud of collossal proportions...

U know something is not right, when everytime I rebooted, i had to manually mount my brand new Pioneer DvD burner... every single time.... lol

It was only a matter of time;

But ain't it funny as hell, that after the billion spent on it, the simplest of simple Brute Force attacks brought it to it knees....

YES! You can goto Harvy "Ripping you off every second you're in my store" Norman and by the time you get home, some pinpled faced geek, will have hijcked your Key and there's not a fucking thing you can do about it!!!!!

Because bottom line is this:

There is really no differentiating between a legit copy with a manually typed in wrong key and a hack attempt.

So you are left pissing in the wind....

OMFG what a fucking MESS!!!!!

And according to the EULA, MICROFUCKINGSHIT does NOT have to reinburst you!!!!!!!!!!!

it is entirely up to them, to decide what happened and make final judgement, regarless of what actually happened or what you say.

My mind boggles as how Governments around the world have let corporations like MICROFUCKINGSHIT re-write the rules according to their bottom line.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

ONLY A SUCKER WOULD PAY FOR VISTA!!!!!

::haha:: ::headbanger:: ::rolf2:: ::roadie:: ::deal::

But to Microsofts defence this is also posted:

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37954

Peersonnaly, when a company tries to tell what to do and how to do it, by (amongst other things), restricing you in how you do it, I tell that company to go fuck itself, regardless of how much tax or jobs it creates. If the bottom line is created at the expense of the comsumer and freedom of information, then the company ain't worth shit and it can go fuck it self.

I mean.....

Microsoft and its products are so dreadful, why is there a huge demand for stolen copies of Vista, XP and Office?

ahhh DUH!!!!! Why da fuck would I pay hundreds of dollars for an oversized iPod?

YOU FUCKING RETARD!!!!

A brief history of a greedy corporate monster:

It is done, the slick GUI that that reporter was rtalking about, it's out:

Image

Here is the info.

Vista Brute Force Keygen

1. Make a backup of C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs
(in case the keygen works, replace it back with the original)

2. Replace slmgr.vbs in C:\windows\system32\.
With the one from the zip-file
If you have problems with permissions, select file
Go to Properties
Take Ownership
Then change Permissions.

3. Write down your partial or entire productkey.
You can check your key with "magic jellybean" included in first file.

4. Goto Start > Run, type "cmd" and OK.
Now type "C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ipk generate".
A process called "wscript.exe"
Will start and can take quite a lot of CPU resources.
It will check aprox. 10000 keys every 30 minutes.

5. Now the waiting begins.
It can take very very very long before you get some results.

6. After some time (hours, days) check your product key with
"magic jellybean"
Again to see if it has changed.

7. If your serial has changed try to activate Vista by going to
Start > Run.
Now type the command
"C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ato"

Compleat!

This keygen has been reported to work for those who are lucky.

lol

I'm not posting the actuall KeyGen, that would be illegal.

hey MICROFUCKINGSHIT!!

Even thou it's a hoaz!

Do any of you guys use Vista?

I've had the 32bit version on a separate partition for a while now (thanks Paradox activation :) ) to test it out.

Tried all the Nvidia latest drivers up to right now and UT2004 still plays poorly and jerky. FEAR is unplayably jerky. Quake 4 won't play at all and I couldn't be stuffed working out why (even with the latest beta patch). They all work fine under XP.

Sure my system is old: P4 2.53 with 1G ram and 6800LE card.

Just wondered if any of you guys with better rigs are actually using and liking Vista?

Im using vista ultimate at the moment and have been since a week before its release and other then its looks its really quite poor. My PC is AMD 3200+, 1gig RAM and 6600GT.

It's quite embarrassing but I havent even played UT2004 with it yet lol. I know DANz did and it was extremely jerky and poor for him (thats with a better vid card then you but slightly less RAM.) The only game Ive played on Vista is WoW and admittedly it run pretty smooth. (Although I had to change a few settings to get it to update itself without crashing lol)

However i've had so much trouble getting things as simple as Nero and Media player working without crashing. And to this day I still cant get a few programs that I used a fair bit on XP to work.

If it wasnt because Im so lazy Id format and reinstall XP lol.

In other words ........... STAY AWAY from it!! lol
