Re: Invisible dj.
That was me that had multiple copies running
The unseen goo problem has been around for a long time but an unseen player! that's a new one.
Something was not right.
This game does strange things to me. Often I get dropped frames, I suspect it's the game attempting to keep the flow going rather than drop a player altogether.
I get so pissed off because I see a player approaching a door then next picture I see they are through the door and raping me from the side - like htf did they even get passed me - grrr
The other situation I get a lot is I hear one rocket being loaded up then next thing I have been hit with all 3. Like wtf - what happened to the other two rockets getting loaded up?
Sadly we will not see any further patches to the game.
Sometimes (not often) my crappy CPU registers one core ceiling itself while other cores are on about 80% cpu, other times it's 80% across the board. I have a 4 core cpu. My 5870 is plenty of GPU grunt for this game so the bottleneck is coming from elsewhere.
Strange thing is when there are 2 other players on the server I normally don't have an issue but once others arrive then I see a slow down and the above problems start showing up - not always but often enough for me to remember a pattern.
Perhaps a move to a new server might improve things? I doubt it's going to solve everything that people are experiencing though. Perhaps there's a hardware lag on the server side somewhere that's showing up in game. There's just too many different people having separate issues for it to be individual people's games alone.
Like all troubleshooting, it's a pain, it's normally a wild combination of events that breaks the system so I suspect that it's server, network and individual games combined in weird and wonderful ways. I don't think this is a pure server issue and I don't think it's an individual Pc issue either.
