I don't know what has happened lately, but I'm getting horrible pings as of late. This has happened in about the last fortnight and now, more than half the servers in Australia are 250+. Half of what's left sits at 150-250, and that also includes the kaos server (though it's pings vary dramatically). Only about 8 servers have pings that I find acceptable, 125 downwards. These seem to consist of the Internode servers and most of the Game Arena servers, though to be honest, what's good and what isn't varies wildly as well.
This mostly accounts for why you haven't been seeing me much (the other been my life schedule, which is slowly changing). I used to get good pings, I'd be hard pressed to find anything over 250, as opposed to half the whole list nowadays. But till this problem blows over, it's probably unlikely you'll see me on prakky nights, at least on the kaos server.
Oh if you're interested, my ISP is in Port Macquarie. And if you're further interested, I'm quite pissed off now

Hmm, my ISP is TSN and it's adsl (256kb). I've got a firewall and antivirus thing running in the background, I've got ICQ as well. I don't think these are causing my problems though, cause I've had all these things on for months (except ICQ, which is 1 month).
I think my problem is mainly the tyranny of distance, a few servers, I get great to good pings, and then suddenly, everything else is almost 100+ higher. Oh, as I said before, the kaos server's pings vary wildly, I'm now getting 83, a few hours ago, it was something like 180.
I checked for viruses for about the first time in a month, I found nothing, heh.

dw man, alot of people are having problems at the moment. There's a lot of issues causing these problems, but rest assured it's affecting everyone, not just you.
Comdiminco (or however the hell you spell it) just went into admisitration (hence why the kaos server is being moved to a new host), and this is wreaking havoc with pings for many people.
Just give it a month or so, and everything should be back to normal
