are those yellow things in the first photo part of an under ground sprinkler system??.. if so, was it expensive?

Yeah I have a bor system so it doesnt cost me anything to water and I can water whenever I like. Push one button and all the sprinklers fire up...its a glorious mavel to witness. It was all already there when I got the place so I dunno how much they cost to setup...not much if ya do it yourself I imagine.
