Ping Compensation Legal?

The Ping Compensation mutator predicts the locations of other players on the client's side and adjusts the visual location of the other players. With this mutator enabled on the server it will mostly be possible to aim directly at the player to be able to him or her with instant-hit weapons. (as opposed to having to lead the target even with instant-hit weapons) Of course there may be some inaccuracies in the prediction, but it will be possible to play with higher pings than usual, if the ping is steady.

Note to people concerned about cheating:
This is a serverside add-on and can't be used for cheating. The cheaters have
their own ping compensation code so they won't need this anyway. w00t

If if you are so desperate to "compensate" for the ping, talk to fear|cyclotorn.. hes right into manipulating his netspeed..... all for da best of course.. best possible game experiendce .. u know.. no uder reason.. no way.. man..... no way... jose.....

Yea well it would be classed as "ileegal" by alot of server admins i can tell you that much after reading about it on Atari forums...
